Top 10 Metal Albums that Influenced Burzum.
  1. Deicide's debut album.
The only death metal album on the list. Raw, extreme and brutal. I got this in 1991. It was the last death metal album I ever bought.
  2. Iron Maiden's debut album.
I got his when I was 13-14 years old. It was a revelation in music to me. A whole new strange world.
  3. Slayer's "Reign in Blood"
I got this as a Yule present from my brother in 1987. Fantastic album.
  4. Destruction's "Infernal Overkill".
I got this from my childhood friend, Truls Birkeland, probably in 1989, because he didn't like it, but thought that I would. And I sure did.
  5. Bathory's "Blood. Fire. Death".
I first heard this in 1988 or 1989, when a friend, Karl Rønneberg, visited from Ålesund. And I lived it from the first listen.
  6. Kreator's "Pleasure to Kill".
I first heard this via the little brother of Einar Osland, whom I played role-playing games with. Awesome album! I still listen to it some times.
  7. Bathory's "Hammerheart". [typo, Twilight of the Gods].
I purchased this when it came in 1991, at a time when it was popular to hate Bathory, because he had (with "Hammerheart") "wimped out".
  8. Bathory's "Hammerheart".
I purchased in 1991, along with "Twilight of the Gods". A trully amazing album. Bathory's best for sure.
  9. Iron Mainden's "Killers".
One of the rawest albums of the 1980ies. I got this along with the other Iron Maiden albums, around age 13-14, and I never looked back.
  10. Iron Maiden's "Somewhere in Time"
Probably the best metal album ever, according to me. Apart from the first track, I love everything on this album.
NB! Not only metal music influenced Burzum, but these are my top 10 metal influences.

Thanks for watching!
