The reason why I think tribalism is going to work for the future it's very simple:Sun storms.A Simpler Life II.Astrophysicians say that every 6.000 years, a sun storm with a magnitude 10.000 stronger than that of the Carrington sun storm of 1859, will hit the Earth.Such a sun storm will according to the same astrophysicians knock out our civilization.Not least because the magnetic field protecting us from sun storms is only 1/3 of the strength of what it was in 1859. Everything electronic or electric will 'die'.Not even heavy duty Faraday boxes will protect against a sun storm of that magnitude. Possibly, even the very metals we surround ourselves with will melt from heat.If so wearing a wrist watch or jewlery can actually prove fatal. We have no way of knowing when this will happen, only that it will, one day.According to the same astrophysicians, there is a 'great chance' that this will happen SOON. And when it does,mankind will be reduced to a fraction of its size, because without electricity, and possibly even metals, there is no way to uphold the food production,the production of medicines, of hygiene articles; of EVERYTHING the vast majority of people NEED in order to survive.Only those who are able to survive on their own, without electricity (and possibly even without the use of metals), will stand any chance of survival.They will survive on eating wild plants, on trapping and hunting, on growing their own food, and on their own stockpiles of food.Maybe this has happened before? Maybe that is the why our forebears used only wood and stone for so long? Because they had to.If a sun storm, or series of sun storms, knock out nuclear power plants as well, we risk other hazards too, in the future. But one thing is certain: Mankind will be dramatically reduced in size, and Tribalism will be the best system for us.Civilization stands no chance against the wrath of the Gods!Death to Prometheus!
