I'm very sorry to say so but when reality comes into conflict with your worldview you need to change your worldview. Those who have been brainwashed though are probably beyond enlightenment so to speak. They are probably lost and we shouldn't really bother trying to enlighten them. Let them crash with reality and fall. And instead we should focus on educating those who have not been broken by this sick society.
