We have several untouched, intact viking burial mounds in Scandinavia[1]and why haven't they been excavated? Let's find out.
Well, it's because the Christians talk about respecting the dead. And everybody agrees, don't they? We should respect the dead. Don't disturb their graves, don't disturb them. And yet, the burial mounds were often, or even almost always, made with some sort of entrance. They could be opened, because they were supposed to be opened, they were supposed to be "disturbed". They were supposed to be looted by those inside the grave when they returned to life. They would return to their own graves, open them up, take what had belonged to them in their previous life, to become themselves, to remember. When there was no entrance, the purpose was to dig open the grave, usually with a deer antler (the "shovel" and "key" of the Stone Age).
And the funny thing is that if you go to Neanderthal graves, they did the same. And they took the skull from the grave. When the Romans came to Gallia they saw heads on display outside their homes. The Romans claimed they were the heads of their enemies, but the Gauls themselves said: "These are the heads of my forebears". This explains why the Christians were so eager to destroy all the pagan sacred sites and objects. And to seal them by building churches on top. Or by creating this weird idea that one shall not disturb the dead. Converted Europeans returned to Paganism in scores, because they kept returning to their old sacred sites and they kept seeing the sacred object that their forebears had owned. The sight of the forebears will awaken them in your heart and mind! So the Christians tried to destroy everything that could remind the converts of their forebears! And they created this idea that one should not "disturb the dead", to keep people away from their ancestral burial mounds!

They burned the keepers of our Tradition. To ensure its destruction. They had to in order to keep the Europeans in Christianity. They had do in order to keep the Europeans from returning in scores to Paganism. They had to because the mere sight of our forebears is enough to awaken them in us!
The fact is that our forebears, they used the burial mounds, the graves, to become themselves again. Because they had a belief in reincarnation, and the whole purpose of putting these objects alongside the dead in the grave, was to be able to recognize them in the next life, and be able to identify yourself, and to remember.
We have been building Pagan temples right under their long noses for a long time though.

The Return of Óðinn did not come about by Chance! The gods are returning and there is no stopping them! Invoke the gods in you by visiting a museum or an old sacred site. Heill Óðinn! Heil auk Sæll!

They destroyed the images of our forebears, and carved crucifixes into their foreheads.

Aphrodite

They destroyed our templates and cut down our sacred trees.

Finally, they burned our midwives.

After the Renaissance (of Pagan ideas and ideals) we began to build museums.

Were we display the objects that our forebears owned.

Just like our forebears did in their temples. And with the same effect.

- Or at least we had the last time I checked, you never know what those raving mad lunatics in government there have done since then.
